1. Who we are

The Platform is operated by Shan Quantum Tech Pty Ltd (ABN 27 687 853 130). We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What we collect

At sign-up: email, nickname, password (stored hashed — we never see it) and date of birth. Your date of birth is used to confirm you are 16 or older and whether the under-18 protections apply; it is stored with your account, never shown publicly, and you can change it once in your profile. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name, profile photo and a Google account identifier to create and link your account; we never see your Google password. If you sign in with Facebook, we only receive your Facebook name, email (if you allow it) and Facebook user ID — never your friends, posts or photos — and we never post to Facebook on your behalf. When you use the Platform: your posts, images, comments and likes, any area name you choose to add, and security logs such as sign-in records and IP addresses. Private messages: the text, photos, videos and contact cards you send are kept in the conversation and visible only to you and the person you are chatting with. Only when you tap "Location" in a private message and confirm sending do we receive your precise location at that moment (coordinates and street address); it is sent to the other person as a message, kept in the conversation and not used for anything else. Comment location: like Douyin and similar platforms, every comment publicly shows the city you commented from (e.g. “Sydney” — never your suburb or street). If you have allowed location access, the app or your browser converts your location into a city name on your device and sends us only that name; we never store coordinates. The app uses your phone’s built-in address service (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone) and the website uses OpenStreetMap’s. If you haven’t allowed location access, we estimate your city from your IP address using the DB-IP free database stored on our own server (IP Geolocation by DB-IP), without sending it to anyone else. You can comment without granting location access. IP location: like Xiaohongshu, your profile publicly shows “IP: city, country” (e.g. “IP: Sydney, Australia”), worked out from the IP address of your most recent visit to the website or app using the same DB-IP database; if you have allowed the app to use your location, it uses your phone’s location instead (sent at roughly 10 km precision, used only to work out the city and never stored). We store only the city and country names for this, not an extra copy of your IP address or coordinates. This can’t be turned off; if you use a VPN, the VPN’s location is shown; for members under 18, others see the country only.

3. Why we collect it

To provide accounts and posting, show your public profile, prevent spam and abuse, handle reports, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

4. What is public

Your nickname, avatar, bio, posts and comments are visible to everyone. Your email is never shown publicly.

5. Storage and service providers

Data is stored on servers in Sydney, Australia; images are stored on Cloudflare R2; sign-up verification uses Cloudflare Turnstile; weather data comes from MET Norway (fetched through our server) and exchange rates from Frankfurter (ECB reference rates). These providers may process some data overseas, and we take reasonable steps to protect it.

6. Your rights

You can view and edit your profile, delete your content, or ask to access, correct or delete your personal information or close your account by emailing support@shantechsolutions.com. To delete your account and data (including accounts created with Apple, Google or Facebook), go to Me → Settings → Delete account in the App or on the website: your account, posts, comments, messages and personal information are deleted straight away and can't be recovered (see auinfostar.com/delete-account). If you can't sign in, email support@shantechsolutions.com with your sign-up email; once verified we delete it within 30 days (except where the law requires us to keep it). You can also remove Australia Info Port under Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

7. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), password hashing and access controls. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the OAIC under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

8. Cookies

We use cookies needed to keep you signed in. When Google AdSense ads are shown, Google and other third-party vendors also use cookies (see section 9). We also use Google Analytics to measure site traffic and which pages are popular (it does not collect your name or email); you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). You can delete or block cookies in your browser, but signing in may stop working.

9. Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info.
